On January 17, the BASF Heraeus Metal Resources Co., Ltd. Pinghu production base, which has attracted significant attention in the precious metal recycling field, was officially put into operation. BASF Heraeus Metal Resources Co., Ltd. is a newly established joint venture between BASF Environmental Catalysts and Metal Solutions and Heraeus Precious Metals, with a registered capital of 160 million yuan, with both parties holding 50% of the shares, located in Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province.

This has led to speculation within the precious metals industry regarding the impact of Russia's export tariffs on commodities, including platinum group metals. Many member companies have sought verification from the China Precious Metals Industry Committee (CPMIC).
In response, the China National Resources Recycling Association's Precious Metals Industry Committee has arranged to understand the situation in depth from both the upstream and downstream supply and demand sides, and has contacted several Russian member companies of the association.
