Invitation to the 2nd Palladium Global Science Award

In 2025, the inaugural Global Palladium Innovation and Application Competition was successfully held, attracting over 100 entries from more than 30 countries. Five scientists from Canada, Japan, India, the United States and Saudi Arabia were awarded three competition prizes for their pioneering achievements in palladium applications across organic chemistry, pharmaceutical research and development, green methanol production, water purification and other fields, sharing a total prize pool of USD 350,000.

To further advance the innovation and industrial application of palladium technologies, the China Precious Metals Industry Committee(CPMIC) will host the the 2nd Palladium Global Science Award in 2026.This competition aims to build a global exchange platform, pool strengths from universities, research institutions and industries, and jointly explore cutting-edge palladium applications in energy, chemistry, medicine, green technologies and high-tech industries. We sincerely invite relevant experts and researchers to participate in this grand event, and jointly promote the progress of palladium science and technology as well as industrial upgrading.

 

Background and Significance of the Competition

Established in 2025, the Global Palladium Innovation and Application Competition is designed to encourage global researchers to conduct original research in palladium-based technologies.Owing to its exceptional catalytic activity, hydrogen absorption capacity, oxidation resistance, electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility, palladium boasts broad application prospects in numerous cutting-edge technologies.The competition is committed to discovering and recognizing scientific research achievements and application solutions that possess industrial application potential and can drive technological advancement and economic value creation.

 

Award Categories

The competition features three award categories, with a total of five winners to be selected:

  • Award for Excellence in Outstanding Scientific Advancement
  • Best Scientific Paper Award
  • Best Scientific Practice and Innovation Award

All entries will be evaluated by an international judging panel composed of renowned experts from top universities and research institutions worldwide. The total prize fund amounts to USD 350,000.

 

Eligibility

This competition is open to scientists, researchers, engineers, startups, and R&D teams from around the world.
