Notice on the Revision of the Standardized Management Index System for Hazardous Waste

In order to further improve the scientific, reasonable, and operability of the standardized management of hazardous waste, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has organized the revision of the "Standardized Management Index System for Hazardous Waste" (see attachment), which is required to be implemented from January 1, 2016. This is now being forwarded for your earnest implementation.

Standardized Management Index System for Hazardous Waste

The Standardized Management Index System for Hazardous Waste is formulated based on laws, regulations, and standards such as the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste", the "Administrative Measures for Hazardous Waste Operation Permits", the "Administrative Measures for Hazardous Waste Transfer Notes", the "Emission Standard for Hazardous Waste Incineration" (GB18484), the "Pollution Control Standard for Hazardous Waste Storage" (GB18597), and the "Pollution Control Standard for Hazardous Waste Landfill" (GB18598). It mainly includes the setting of hazardous waste identification marks, the preparation of hazardous waste management plans, the implementation of management systems such as hazardous waste declaration and registration, transfer notes, operating permits, and emergency plans, and whether the storage, utilization, and disposal of hazardous waste comply with relevant standards and regulations.
