A scrapped car enters the disassembly line, and within half an hour, the body, chassis, engine, tires, and oil tanks are easily dismantled. After purification, various metal elements, rubber, and even remaining gasoline, lubricating oil, and freon are effectively recovered. Recently, the first domestic scrapped vehicle disassembly production line in China, independently researched, designed, and integrated by the Engineering Technology Division of Baosteel Engineering Technology Group, was completed and delivered to the owner, Bayi Steel Jinye Scrapped Vehicle Disassembly Company, on an EPC basis.

With the development of the automotive industry, the recycling and clean disassembly and utilization of scrap vehicles has become an important issue in China's "resource utilization and environmental protection" development. In Urumqi, Xinjiang alone, more than 30,000 scrapped vehicles are generated annually. Currently, the disassembly of scrapped vehicles in China is mainly done through small workshops with manual disassembly. These operations are numerous, small in scale, use outdated technology, have low recycling rates, and cause serious pollution to the air and soil. Therefore, once the "Scrapped Vehicle Recycling and Recycled Resource Processing and Utilization Project" of Bayi Steel was proposed, relevant national departments listed it as a national support project for the construction of an urban recycled resource recycling and utilization system, providing support in various aspects.

After undertaking the Bayi Steel Scrapped Vehicle Recycling and Recycled Resource Processing and Utilization Project, the project team of the Planning and Logistics Department of the Engineering Technology Division adhered to the principles of "two types" (resource-saving and environment-friendly), high efficiency, and zero pollution. Leveraging the company's advantages in mechanical design and environmental protection technology, and drawing on international advanced scrapped vehicle disassembly technologies and processes, the team independently researched, integrated, and innovatively designed China's first scrapped vehicle disassembly production line. Test data from the completed production line shows that various indicators, especially in environmental protection and operational efficiency, meet and exceed the requirements of the newly promulgated national "Technical Specifications for Scrapped Vehicle Disassembly." At the same time, most of the production line's equipment has been localized, forming several proprietary technologies such as water cutting and large vehicle disassembly. The completion of this project will make it a national demonstration factory for vehicle disassembly.

According to the design, after the scrapped vehicle production line is put into operation, it can annually recycle more than 50,000 tons of waste steel, 32,000 tons of rubber, 4,800 sets of remanufactured (repaired and utilized) auto parts, 4.8 tons of freon, 16 tons of engine oil, and more than 200 tons of plastics and glass.
