Foreign media reported on May 18 that the World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC) expects global platinum recycling to reach 2.11 million ounces this year, a 3% year-on-year increase, similar to the increase in 2014.

According to WPIC, platinum jewelry recycling is expected to decline by 6% to 725,000 ounces due to low prices.

However, platinum recovery from automotive catalysts is expected to increase by 10% to 1.38 million ounces, slightly lower than last year's 12% increase.

It is said that most platinum recycling will come from Europe.
