Jinchuan Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. will build a factory in Belarus

  From May 10th to 12th, during a visit to Belarus, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Lukashenko jointly witnessed the signing ceremony of several economic and trade cooperation projects between the two countries. Five key cooperation agreements and investment projects from Gansu Province were included in the agreements witnessed by the two heads of state, marking substantial progress in economic and trade cooperation between Gansu Province and Belarus.

  Belarus is a crucial transit point for Eurasian land transport and holds a unique geographical advantage for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Gansu Province attaches great importance to cooperation with Belarus in expanding its opening-up to the west and in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. In 2007, Gansu Province and the Grodno Oblast of Belarus established a friendly provincial-oblast relationship, jointly promoting exchanges and cooperation. In early 2014, Gansu Province established a business representative office in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, to build a platform for investment cooperation. Last August, Gansu Province held an exhibition of Gansu specialty products in Minsk, promoting the "going global" of Gansu's specialty products.

  Based on expanding exchanges and enhancing mutual trust, the exchanges between Gansu Province and Belarus have deepened continuously, and the scope of cooperation has expanded. Many powerful enterprises in Gansu have conducted investigations in Belarus, actively seeking cooperation. Cooperation in agricultural development, machinery manufacturing, agricultural product processing, and infrastructure construction has achieved significant results. The agreements witnessed by the heads of state of China and Belarus include a cooperation agreement between Gansu Province and Grodno Oblast, a memorandum of cooperation with the Belarusian Ministry of Trade, and a letter of intent to establish a friendly city relationship between Longnan City and Grodno City. Projects include Jin Chuan Nickel Industry Co., Ltd.'s investment in the construction of a pipe production project in the China-Belarus Industrial Park and Yumen Juxin Malt Co., Ltd.'s construction of a malt processing plant in the China-Belarus Industrial Park. Jin Chuan Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. will invest US\$10 million to build a factory in Grodno Oblast, using its proprietary technology and equipment to produce and process pipes and pipe fittings. It is expected to produce more than 50,000 tons of pipes annually.
