Heraeus: Rhodium prices are higher than platinum prices and will remain stable at current levels.

Release time:

13 May,2015

Heraeus analysts say that the price of rhodium will stabilize at current levels.

Since April 24, the price of rhodium has been higher than that of platinum (1193.50, 1.10, 0.09%). Although the price of rhodium has historically been higher than that of platinum, since 2012, the price of platinum has exceeded that of rhodium, even surpassing it by almost $500 per ounce, until recently.

Analysts stated: "On the one hand, this is due to the decline in platinum prices, and on the other hand, it is a reflection of the stable rhodium price."

Last week, the price of rhodium rose from $1090 to $1135 per ounce to $1095 to $1140 per ounce, while the price of platinum fell from $1127 to $1175 per ounce to $1116 to $1162 per ounce.

Heraeus analysts said: "Currently, there are no signs that rhodium buyers are concerned about rising prices."
