From October 30 to November 1, 2019, the 13th International Forum on the Precious Metals Industry was successfully held in Hangzhou, with over 300 representatives from 16 countries and regions attending the conference.

The conference received support and sponsorship from organizations such as the International Platinum Association, the World Platinum Investment Council, Zhejiang Shenlian Environmental Protection Group, Hangzhou Kaida Catalytic Metal Materials Co., Ltd., Nanjing Jinli Testing Co., Ltd., Anglo American Platinum, BASF Metals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Junxin Precious Metal Technology Materials Co., Ltd., Yunlong County Platinum Cui Precious Metal Technology Co., Ltd., and the Precious Metals Branch of Sinopec Catalyst Company, and has become one of the most highly regarded precious metals conferences globally. The conference was divided into five parts: discussions on precious metal recycling policy standards, keynote speeches, networking, roundtable dialogues, and company visits, with representatives from various fields including precious metal recycling, refining, trading, material manufacturing, finance, technology, equipment, testing, and administrative management attending.
On the first day of the conference, twelve companies responsible for drafting the collection and storage standards for waste three-way catalysts studied the main framework, ideas, and basic content of the standards.

The forum was hosted by Bian Jiang, Vice President of the Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Material Recycling Association. Before the meeting, a congratulatory letter from Ms. Ruth, President of LBMA, was read, thanking the Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Material Recycling Association for assisting domestic companies in participating in the global precious metals annual meeting held by LBMA/LPPM in Shenzhen, recognizing the contributions made by the Precious Metals Industry Committee to promote the development of China's precious metals industry. Both parties have many similarities in work scope and business processes, and it is hoped that LBMA/LPPM and the Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Material Recycling Association will work closely together to add value to the global precious metals market. Finally, Ms. Ruth wished the conference great success.

During the keynote speech phase, Dr. Liu Guoliang from the Hazardous Waste Department of the Solid Waste Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment provided an in-depth interpretation of environmental regulations related to waste containing precious metals. A series of newly revised environmental regulations will be introduced next year, which will benefit the development of compliant operating enterprises. Other speakers interpreted the latest industry views from various aspects including recycling, precious metal prices and supply and demand, applications, development trends, testing, and jewelry.



To maintain the legal operation of industry enterprises, the Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Material Recycling Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Ganjiang New Area International Arbitration Court to provide legal service guarantees for industry enterprises. To establish authority and professionalism, senior personnel from the industry will be hired to join the arbitration team, using their in-depth understanding of industry rules and conditions to adjudicate industry disputes. The qualifications of arbitrators will be reviewed by the Ministry of Justice, and internationally recognized arbitration certificates will be issued, which have high authority.


The dinner was sponsored by Hangzhou Kaida, and Sinopec Precious Metals Company provided lottery gifts: a silver ingot for peace. Senior leaders from various enterprises served as lottery and award guests, and the lottery segment created a lively atmosphere for the dinner.

On the second day during the high-end roundtable dialogue phase, Bian Jiang, Vice President of the Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Material Recycling Association, hosted the dialogue on environmental policies and the precious metals industry. Dr. Liu Guoliang from the Hazardous Waste Management Department of the Solid Waste Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Section Chief Dai Wei from the Soil and Solid Waste Chemicals Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Chairman Zhang Zhixiang of Xi'an Kaili New Materials Co., Ltd., Chairman Qian Zhuming of Yunlong County Platinum Cui Precious Metal Technology Co., Ltd., Vice President Xu Zhun of Zhejiang Shenlian Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., and Director Dai Yifeng of Recycling Business Development at Youmeike Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. analyzed the impact of environmental policies on the industry from their respective perspectives, including the collection, storage, and packaging management of waste three-way catalysts, environmental compliance issues of failed pharmaceutical fine chemical catalysts, and the properties of waste residues after refining precious metals from waste catalysts, and proposed positive suggestions.

Jiang Jicheng, China Regional Manager of the Market Research Department of Zhuangxin Wanfeng, hosted the market and investment segment. Kumar Bole, Asia-Pacific Director of BASF Precious Metals Services, Sun Guojiang, General Manager of Precious Metals Marketing and Business Development at Anglo American Platinum's Singapore branch, Deng Weibin, China Regional Head of the World Platinum Investment Council, Lü Baoguo, Deputy General Manager of Youyan Yijin New Materials Co., Ltd., Consultant Zhou Xianlian from Metal Focus Consulting, and Sun Hao, Assistant to the Chairman of Zhongzi Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as the current industry's focus on precious metal price trends, supply and demand relationships, the critical point of platinum-palladium interchange under the National 6b emission standards, and precious metal investment and risk control.

On the afternoon of the third day, some enterprises visited Hangzhou Fuyang Sheneng Environmental Protection Company in batches, where General Manager Hu Xianchun and leaders from Fuyang District provided detailed explanations for the visiting enterprises.
