Recently, the opening ceremony of Point Gold International, the Hong Kong subsidiary of our association’s member enterprise, Dianjin Precious Metals, was successfully held at its new headquarters in Kai Tak AIRSIDE. This move marks a significant step for the company in deepening its presence in Hong Kong’s physical precious metals market and accelerating its global industrial expansion, while also injecting fresh momentum into the coordinated development of the precious metals industries on the mainland and in Hong Kong.

The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Christopher Hui, along with numerous HKSAR government officials, representatives of industry associations, financial institutions, and guests from various sectors, attended the event to jointly witness the unveiling ceremony.

At the ceremony, Huang Wenbin, Chairman and CEO of Dianjin Precious Metals, stated in his address that the Group began in Shenzhen in 2009, with operations spanning precious‑metal trading, refining and processing, and new materials. For many years, Hong Kong has served as a vital gateway to the international market. The relocation of the Group’s headquarters to AIRSIDE in Kai Tak marks a pivotal milestone in its global expansion. Currently, the Group is upgrading its refining facility in Tai Po, Hong Kong, steadily enhancing its refining capacity and international service capabilities, while actively participating in the development of the Hong Kong International Gold Trading Center. Upholding strict compliance standards and aligning with international best practices, the Group is steadily expanding its global footprint.

Director Xu Zhengyu extended his congratulations on the completion of the new headquarters. He noted that Hong Kong is actively developing an international gold trading market and building a comprehensive commodity‑trading ecosystem. Leveraging the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area’s collaborative framework, Hong Kong is deepening cooperation with Shenzhen in the gold processing and trade sector, thereby expanding the supply of deliverable benchmark gold. He expressed his hope that Point Gold International will continue to strengthen its physical precious metals business, work closely with all stakeholders in the industry, and jointly position Hong Kong as a gold trading hub connecting mainland China with the global market.

I will preside over the ceremony and deliver a speech. He stated that the mainland’s precious‑metal recycling industry is steadily advancing, with its industrial chain continuously being refined. Hong Kong boasts distinct advantages in international markets, finance, and trade, and he expressed the hope that this occasion will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between the mainland and Hong Kong in the precious‑metal sector, integrate upstream and downstream resources, facilitate the cross‑border flow of production factors, and jointly promote the high‑quality, sustainable development of the precious‑metal industry.

The opening ceremony was both elaborate and solemn. Distinguished guests jointly bestowed the “third eye” upon the auspicious lion, followed by the traditional “caiqing” ritual, unveiling of the plaque, ribbon-cutting, and a good‑luck ceremony—each symbolizing thriving business and seamless global trade. At the conclusion, the guests raised their glasses in celebration, while the spirited lion paraded through the venue, heralding the company’s steady progress and long‑term success.

According to reports, Dianjin International will leverage its new headquarters at Kai Tak AIRSIDE as a strategic hub, coordinating with the Hung Hom Dispatch and Operations Center and the Tai Po Smart Refining Plant to continuously strengthen its capabilities in global trading, customer service, and cross‑border supply chain management. Moving forward, the company will remain firmly rooted in the physical precious metals industry, fully capitalizing on Hong Kong’s advantages as an international financial center to expand global partnerships. It is committed to building a comprehensive, internationally oriented precious metals enterprise—based in Hong Kong, connecting mainland China with the rest of the world—that integrates precious metals trading, refining and processing, international trading, and clearing services, thereby contributing to the upgrading and enhancement of Hong Kong’s gold industry.

The association will continue to closely monitor the development of its member enterprises, proactively establish platforms for exchange and collaboration between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao in the precious metals sector, facilitate the flow of industry resources and foster collaborative innovation, and work hand in hand with industry stakeholders to drive high-quality growth in the precious metals industry.
