The China Precious Metals Industry Committee of the China Resource Recycling Association held its 2019 work conference in Dezhou, Shandong from June 25th to 27th, 2019. Participants openly discussed current industry challenges, existing problems, and strategies for addressing them.

Currently, the members of the Precious Metals Industry Committee account for 85% of the national share in the recycling and refining sector and 60% in the trading sector. They are a key force in China's precious metals industry and bear the responsibility of driving its development. This meeting approved the membership applications of three new companies and the revocation of membership for one company.

At the meeting, Vice President Bian Jiang first reported on the main work and accomplishments of the Precious Metals Industry Committee over the past year. The issue of restricting the inter-provincial transfer of waste catalysts containing precious metals, discussed at the 4.26 Association Member Online Conference, has been preliminarily resolved, and subsequent tasks have been arranged. The report also highlighted the extensive cooperation and exchanges between the Association and internationally renowned organizations such as LPPM, LBMA, SFA, and MF within the industry.

The meeting focused on discussions on resolving the issue of inter-provincial transfer of waste catalysts containing precious metals, promoting the exemption of waste three-way catalysts from hazardous waste regulations, and addressing issues related to establishing recycling centers, collecting certificates, and the attributes of refining waste residue. It also addressed the special management issues surrounding the recycling of palladium carbon waste catalysts from pharmaceutical and other fine chemical industries.

Jiang Shaoyang, Deputy General Manager of the Precious Metals Company of China Petrochemical Catalyst Company, introduced the four types of waste catalyst collection, sampling, and packaging standards planned for this year. Participating organizations are currently discussing these standards, with finalization expected in July. Dr. Liu Guoliang from the Solid Waste Management Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Researcher Guo Yuwen from the Solid Waste Institute of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, answered various environmental questions encountered by enterprises in their production and operations at the meeting.

The meeting also explored other prominent issues in the industry, analyzing aspects such as the supply and demand relationship and price impact of precious metals. The meeting emphasized the importance of legal compliance and integrity in business operations for our enterprises and called on all members to work together to create a sound industry order.
