Survey on HW50 Hazardous Waste Business Licenses in Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Yunnan

After the promulgation of the newly revised list of hazardous wastes, spent catalysts were listed separately as HW50. By June 2018, more than 300 enterprises nationwide had applied for hazardous waste operation permits for spent catalysts containing precious metals. Market and industry management were relatively chaotic.

After the newly revised list of hazardous waste was issued, waste catalysts were separately classified as HW50 category. As of June 2018, more than 300 enterprises in China have applied for hazardous waste operating licenses containing precious metal waste catalysts, and the market and industry management are relatively chaotic. Commissioned by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Precious Metal Recycling Committee of the China Association for Material Recycling is responsible for formulating guidelines for the review of hazardous waste permits for catalysts containing rare precious metals. In order to clarify the current situation of the industry, the Vice President of our association, together with colleagues from the Solid Management Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and local environmental protection departments at all levels, went to Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Yunnan and other places where the industry is more concentrated in July and August to conduct research. They summarized the situation where problems are more concentrated and made specific requirements for enterprises that need to be rectified.
