From the perspective of vehicle sales, the Chinese auto industry entered a period of explosive demand growth after 2000, and new vehicle sales grew rapidly. The scrapping period for vehicles is usually 10 to 15 years, and China will enter the peak period for vehicle scrapping after 2015.

Xiamen to build automobile scrapping and dismantling processing base

Recently, it was learned from the Xiamen Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau that Xiamen will build a new automobile dismantling and processing base in Xiang'an. Upon completion, it will be able to dismantle and process 30,000 scrapped vehicles annually. The total investment is 65 million yuan, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Currently, the project is in the environmental impact assessment public announcement phase.
